About us
Merrill’s Custom Woodwork is a small shop that builds high quality custom cabinets and furniture built the way you want. With over 20 years of experience building hand crafted furniture and custom cabinets, we have the attention to detail that sets us apart from the rest. Everything we build is made to fit, making us a truly custom shop. If you have an odd size or shape to fill we build your cabinets to fit the space; no fillers or false panels. We will work together with you to create a custom design to fit your style, needs and budget. We use 3D computer modeling to create a lifelike rendering so you can visualize what your finished project will look like. We use the highest quality materials, hardware and finishes. Located in Hayden, Idaho we service the Coeur d’Alene and north Idaho area as well as Spokane and eastern Washington.

Woods
We use the highest quality plywood and hardwood from Merrill's Hardwood Store in Hayden, Idaho. We can use any species of wood you want. No choosing from a small list of different woods. If it is available we can use it. Alder, rustic alder, cherry, oak, quarter sawn oak, hickory, maple, rustic maple and walnut are some of the popular woods. |
Stain and Finish
We use premium ML Campbell stains and finishes. Our stains are hand rubbed and custom mixed for each job. We can use a stock color or custom match other woodwork. Our typical finish is multiple coats of pre-catylized sealer and lacquer. With this combination we achieve a beautiful and durable furniture grade finish. |
Hardware
We use a variety of premium hinges and drawer guides depending on what the specific project calls for. We typically use Blum soft close hinges and drawer guides. |
Accessories
We offer a wide variety of accessories and organizers from lazy Suzans to pantry pullouts provided by Rev-a-Shelf. All of our drawer boxes are solid maple dove tailed. |
